General questions

Yes, due to our logistics, a prior booking is mandatory. We accept last-minute bookings, but we can’t guarantee that space will be available; therefore, we highly recommend booking at least a few days in advance. We’ll confirm every booking by email and include all important information about your tour. By booking you acknowledge our general terms and conditions.

The requirements for each of our trips are listed in the individual activity description. It is the responsibility of the participant to choose an appropriate activity. If you are unsure, please do not hesitate to call us and discuss which activity would be right for you and your group!

Generally speaking, good health and basic swimming ability are required for all participants.

No, insurance coverage is your responsibility. We assume that you have a valid accident and health insurance, which also covers for rescue costs in case needed. If you have travel insurance please ensure that canyoning is covered under your policy.

According to the decision of the Swiss government, we are now able to offer tours with a normal group size in Ticino.

Please have it in mind that during the trips we don’t recommend wearing masks and cannot guarantee to keep the safety distance of 1,5 m at all times.

Canyoning

  • Certified guide
  • Freshly washed 5mm wetsuit with a hood
  • Adidas canyoning shoes
  • Petzl canyoning harness
  • Certified mountaineering helmet
We’ll provide all the necessary gear for the canyon, including shoes. You’ll need to bring your own swimsuit and bath towel, and perhaps synthetic or merino sports underwear to wear under your wetsuit if you get cold easily. We recommend that you bring disposable contact lenses if you normally wear glasses. Of course, it’s also important to bring any personal medications such as asthma spray, epi-pen, or allergy medication, and to notify your guide about your medical condition.

Discover canyoning and Beginner canyoning tours require no prior experience, we’ll teach you everything on the spot. In these canyons generally there are no dangerous water movements, the highest abseil is less than 20m and the highest jump is 10m. There is always possibility for lowering or a safety belay in case of an abseil.

Intermediate tours are suitable only for fit and sporty individuals with rappelling and/or canyoning experience, with no fear of heights.

Expert tours require previous canyoning experience, fast and safe active abseiling skills and having been canyoning with us in the past or you can book a package or course where we build up your skills.

Yes. For the basic trips you don’t have to be a strong swimmer, but you should be able to swim without help for 20m at least and be able to put your head underwater.
Yes, we take some pictures during the trip. However you can add a photo package to your booking for a small fee and then your guide will make sure to have loads of SUPER COOL photos and videos of you (usually between 60-100 photos per trip). For the Beginner, Discovery and Family tours we recommend not taking your own camera, so you could fully focus on the experience and what you are doing. For the Intermediate and Expert trips you are welcome to bring your camera or Gopro, but please understand that we don’t take responsibility for the safety of your equipment.

Ticino canyons are without a doubt one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world! But they also have their disadvantages: the fact that they sometimes have narrow places means that the safety in the gorge is very dependent on the water level and its influencing factors: the amount of precipitation, the snowmelt, dam openings, etc. Safety has absolute priority. Sometimes it is only possible to predict at short notice (1 to 2 days) before the tour whether the circumstances are suitable for the tour. As soon as we are sure whether the tour can take place or not, we will share the information with you!

As long as we are able to guarantee the safety of our guests, the tour will not be cancelled. This particularly applies to canyons with hydro-electric infrastructure (reservoirs) where rain water might never make it into the canyon. If the tour is cancelled, we will offer an alternative tour or date, or we will issue a voucher so you can come another time.
